With referance to your letter of the 12th October 1901, No.35260/01 relative to the proposed extension of the Murray Pier and the re-instatement of the Victoria Recreation Club at Hong Kong, 1 am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you
for the information of the Secretary of State for the
Colonies that Their Lordships have received a further

repart from the Commodore in Charge at Hong Kong forward-
ing a copy of a joint report by the Acting Director of
Public Works and the Superintending Civil Engineer of the
Dockyard Extension Works, which report is attached.
After reference to the Treasury, Their Lordships
agree generally in the terms of the joint report and I am
to forward a copy of a letter which has been addressed to
the Commodore in Charge, reciting the terms of the
arrangement to which the Admiralty assent and which My
Lords trust will be acceptable to all the parties
concerned.
I am to request the return of the copy of the
joint report above referred to in due course.
